Tom Ford RESORT 2025

Tom Ford's legacy of seductive glamour lives on in a collection that pulsates with the spirit of the 1990s and 2000s. Micro-minis, slinky trouser suits, and hip-skimming caftans – all hallmarks of the brand's iconic style – are back in full force. Peter Hawkings, Ford's longtime menswear designer and now the brand's creative director, embodies the essence of his predecessor's vision. A British designer deeply familiar with Ford's playbook, Hawkings has consolidated the women's and men's design teams in London, a symbolic return to the city where Ford once housed his Gucci studio.

The resort collection, showcased in the Tom Ford store on Sloane Street, embodies a distinct mood. Hawkings's design director, Christopher Rawstron, draws inspiration from a video documentary on Veruschka, the legendary German model and artist Vera von Lehndorff. "Kind of late '60s, early '70s, kind of [Richard] Avedon," Rawstron describes the collection's aesthetic, evoking an era of youthful rebellion and fashion's transformation.

The collection blends elements of the era's key trends: from graphic minis and hotpants to hippie-inspired maximalism. Veruschka enthusiasts will recognize coded references to iconic images – a 1976 Yves Saint Laurent safari jacket and an A-line micro-dress with a cross-ribbon neckline. The result is a contemporary collection infused with a dash of nostalgia, a sundowner cocktail of excess and escapism.
