"Mestiza" means a woman of mixed ancestry, as the brand embraces and celebrates the co-founder’s shared Filipino-American heritage. Vintage photographs of their mothers and grandmothers in the Philippines in the 1960s have been the recurrent source of inspiration that fuels every Mestiza collection.
Each garment is designed in the Mestiza New York studio in the Flatiron District, and produced locally in New York City. Alessandra and Louisa use the same couture pattern makers and sewers that have worked with some of the most upscale fashion houses in the United States, and source all of their intricate fabrications and embellishments from the same suppliers that are used by high-end designer brands.
